Big Sean Says Kanye West Owes Him Millions and Never Returned His Masters

Big Sean is exposing his issues with Kanye West.

After calling him out for his “bitch ass” comments, the “Loyal to a Fault” rapper opened up about his relationship with Ye during his three-hour-long interview with “Drink Champs.”

Sean, who ended his relationship with G.O.O.D. Music this year, claims Ye still owes him around $6 million from what he describes as an “unfair” record deal.

“If you up Bs and you owe me this money that probably ain’t nothing to him. That’s life-changing money for me,” he told N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN. “I put at least 30 million in this man’s pocket or more and he owes me money and he’s up billions.”

Sean decided to audit the label after a suggestion from his manager, Roc Nation CEO Jay Brown, who described it as the “worst deal he’s ever seen.”

In September 2020, Kanye announced that he was giving his artists back their masters, but that has yet to happen, according to Sean.

“That hasn’t happened yet but that would benefit me a lot,” said Sean, who called himself the “No. 1 earning artist on G.O.O.D. Music.” “If I was up Bs, if I was a man of my word and not just saying something to look good in that moment, I would pay my artists their masters.”

He revealed that his issues with Ye originated from “Blessings,” his 2015 collaboration with Drake. Kanye heard the song and said he wanted to be on it, but his album Dark Sky Paradise was already done and set to be released the next day.

However, Sean still tried to get him on it and even helped Ye write his verse. Drake didn’t think the song needed Kanye, but Sean still pushed for him. Because of the last-minute timing, Kanye didn’t end up on the album, but he did appear on the extended version and in the video. While on set of the “Blessings” video, Sean said Ye “spazzed” on him for not putting him on the album version.

During his “Drink Champs” interview, Kanye blasted Sean for not supporting him during his bid for president. Sean says he tried to reach out to Ye but didn’t have his contact info and that he never publicly endorsed a candidate, despite Ye’s claim otherwise.

“What am I supposed to do, support somebody that I cannot even get in contact with at the time?” asked Sean.

He decided to finally break his silence because it’s been weighing on him. “It’s been bothering me and I’m tired of not being able to speak out,” he said.
