Travis Scott fans will be raging this weekend.
Ahead of his Astroworld Festival, the Houston rapper has announced that he’s dropping new music tonight. He shared the black-and-white artwork featuring an elf-like version of himself on a tabloid magazine cover.
“The true dystopia is here!” reads one headline.
Travis didn’t specify if it’s one song or a collection of music, tweeting, “SOME NEW MUSIC AT MIDNIGHT. AHAHAHHSBDBDDKRKRHEB.”
It was previously reported that he was planning to drop a mixtape called Dystopia before his highly-anticipated fourth album Utopia. The project has been compared to Travis’ 2014 mixtape Days Before Rodeo, which was released prior to his 2015 debut album Rodeo.
Travis hinted at the dystopia concept in an interview with CR Fashion Book. “You think utopia is a society where everything is good: health, buildings, architecture–nah,” he told the magazine. “It’s just about proper lines of communication. Because that’s the dystopian shit we’re in right now. It’s all hate, hate, hate, and all of that is drawn from what? Miscommunication, non-communication, non-understandable communication, ignorance to communication.”
Astroworld Festival returns to Houston this weekend with a star-studded lineup including SZA, Lil Baby, Roddy Ricch, Young Thug, Master P, 21 Savage, and more. Travis’ headlining set will stream live on Apple Music on Friday at 10 p.m. ET.
