Soulja Boy is making major moves.

The “Crank That” rapper claims he is the new owner of legendary video game developer Atari. Taking to Instagram Live, Soulja made the big announcement.

“They signed me to a deal with Atari,” said Soulja, who has big plans for Atari. “I’m about to revamp the company. We gon’ take Atari to the next level.”

While Soulja says he’s the owner, it’s unclear if he actually purchased the company or if they signed him to an endorsement deal. “I am now the owner of Atari. I own the video game company Atari,” he added.

According to Soulja, Atari reached out after the success of his own Soulja Boy gaming console, which he claims he’s about to sell for a whopping $140 million.

“I think I’ma get $140 million from SouljaGames,” he said. “I signed two deals with Atari. I’m the owner. The first rapper to own a video game company.”

Atari was founded in 1972 by Nolan Bushnell and Ted Dabney and was a pioneer in arcade games and home video game consoles, with products such as Pong and the Atari 2600.

In addition to his SouljaGame console, the 31-year-old entrepreneur sells other electronics including the SouljaWatch, SouljaPods, SouljaPhone, and SouljaHeadphones. At the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic last year, he also launched a soap business.
