Drake is showing more love to The Weeknd.
Following his 10 wins at the Billboard Music Awards, the 6 God paid tribute to his fellow Canadian. Posting a photo of Abel surrounded by his numerous trophies, Drake shared some kind words.
“10 and 10 for the city… 10 years for me and 10 mics for the kid so stop playing wit us,” he captioned his Instagram Story.
The Weeknd was the big winner at Sunday’s ceremony, taking home the most awards including Top Artist and Top Hot 100 Artist, bringing his career total to 19. He also delivered an epic performance of his chart-topping hit “Save Your Tears.”
Drake, who holds the title for most Billboard Music Award wins of all time, was also honored as Artist of the Decade. While accepting the award alongside his 3-year-old son Adonis, he thanked his peers.
“All of your decisions and the music you make really does have me tossing and turning at night trying to figure out what I should do,” he said.
Drake celebrated the achievement by renting out SoFi Stadium in L.A. and hosting an intimate dinner on the 50-yard line. According to E! News, invited guests included Chris Brown, DJ Khaled, Doja Cat, SZA, and The Weeknd.
“There are huge champagne towers and several bars set up throughout the stadium,” said a source. “Drake also has cute album books featuring his favorite moments through his career set up around the stadium.”
Drake’s friends including Nicki Minaj and J. Cole took to social media to congratulate him on the honor.
