Rihanna is making history while teasing new music.
On Wednesday, she celebrated the fact that her most recent album ANTI has spent five full years on the Billboard 200. It becomes the first album by a Black female artist to achieve this milestone in the chart’s history.
Taking to Instagram, a humbled Rihanna thanked her fans for their support. “grateful to the most High for putting die hard supporters in my circle,” she wrote, while acknowledging Women’s History Month. “congrats to everyone that contributed to this era, thank you team.”
She also hinted that new music was on the way. When a fan told her to “celebrate by releasing a song,” RiRi actually responded, writing, “I think I should [soon].”
However, fans shouldn’t expect a full album just yet. “Just 1 tho lol,” she added.

It’s unclear how “soon” she plans to drop, but that hasn’t stopped fans from sharing their excitement over her impending return, while others were more skeptical.

Additionally, Rihanna shared her love for Yung Miami of the City Girls by commenting on a poll asking which female rapper she should collaborate with. The options included Saweetie, Doja Cat, Asian Doll, Cardi B, and Megan Thee Stallion. Rihanna popped up in the comments, writing, “Careshaaaaaaaa,” referring to Yung Miami’s legal name.
Yung Miami posted a screenshot of her comment and added, “Period.”

This isn’t the first time Rihanna has teased new music. Back in July, the Fenty Beauty mogul told “Access Hollywood” that she was itching to release something.
“It’s probably gonna be sooner than my fans think, but I’m just gonna leave that alone,” she said. “They don’t leave me alone, but I haven’t neglected ’em. I still got you. Music is still my baby.”
It’s been over five years since Rihanna released ANTI, but she promises it will be worth the wait. “I’m not just gonna put it out just because people are waiting,” she told “ET.” “It’s taken this long, I’m gonna make it worth it.”
